I will paint my bike myself and it is going to be bright red or orange. What kind of fancy paints are used for bikes? I just know candy paint, anything else? I used pearl paint for a Lincoln once. How about changing color paint? What kind of paint is it on the picture?

Yep. Did a similar scheme but with a candy apple red on my last bike with a buddy who has an auto body shop. Used the Harley black as the base, then sprayed silver and did both marble effect( saran wrap) then graphics with a brushed effect( spray silver and run a brush over the area while wet). Then candy, and finally clear with extra pearl in the clear. Nice effect!

Sound like you are a super bike painter! Do you have pictures?
I checked candy price, it is very expensive. It is probably just a clear coat with some coloring additive. Is it?

Not super at all. Thankfully my buddy knows what he's doing and I got to help and learn. Like anything else people who know what they are doing make it look easy. Found 2 old pics. Bike was traded in 2 years ago. Was an 03 Ultra. Black with the anniversary ribbon . Candy looks like a tinted clear. But I'm not positive thats all it is. Remember you don't need a lot of paint for a bike. So when buying a quart goes the distance. And you can buy pearls and flake from supply houses as well if you want to go crazy with effects.
