Default Fix a little rust

What's up guys, this is my first post around these parts lol. Since I haven't been able to ride much I've been piddling around with the bike a lot more. I've had these rust spots for a long time. I live in Texas and moisture is a given. What would be the best/easiest way to fix spots like these. Would a quick sand, prime, black rattle can do a decent job or do I need to go above and beyond. My bike isn't show quality so I'm not looking for a pro finish. Just a shade tree finish. Any help is appreciated

Sand down with 180 grit, feathering all edges. Do a couple heavy coats red oxide or rust preventative spray can paint. Follow recoat time on can. Sand out with 220 grit. Throw on how ever many coats u want. About to do mine after new trike paint. I'll do the same prep, but thinking of One Shot enamel and using a small brush. We'll get 'em looking good either way. From an East Texan.

And make sure All loose old paint and rust is removed. If you like it, then it's good. Ken

Scrap the rust bubbles off to get bare metal and no rough or loose edges to chip more, stainless brush the area hard to knock down heavy top rust as much as you can. Use a rust conversion primer or rust killer, several kinds out there, light sand to knock off the high spots and drips if needed then your choice of a good auto grade gloss top coat.

Trick is busting all the bubbles under the paint to get at the traveling rust threads, don't get those it'll keep eating away
