Hey everyone, has anyone plasti dipped their Harley before? I’m tried to decide between plasti dipping my bike from desert camp to a dark blue. But my worry is that it will chip easily.

I had plasti dipped a Triumph Speedmaster i had bought on the cheap. Actually turned out good. No problems with it chipping during the year I had it.
There are tons of videos on YouTube on how to properly plasti dip. Can’t cost more than $50 to do a whole bike. And if you don’t like it, peel it off...as long as you put 8t on properly it’ll come off easily.
I did my old Yamaha vstar 1100 in black. It’s easier on some spots to overspray and peel than it is to mask, which makes some things easy. Fuel melts it RIGHT off so be careful filling up and changing fluids. Good thing is if you need to touch it up, F* it just spray the spot and it dries and blends perfectly without repainting whole parts. Nifty stuff.
Edit: spray it on thick, way easier to take off since it comes off in one nice piece instead of a million. And don’t use the glossifier, it makes removal way more difficult.

Knew someone bought a new scoot and took all the tins off and spray painted it with flat black, out of home depot spray cans.
I didnt dare say anything to that big phucker what I thought...he did what he wanted, and I respected that.
That was like '92?
I plastidipped my fairing and some other misc parts. They still look good a year later or so. Cleaning them is as easy as a water hose spray and air dry. I plan on peeling and reapplying in the spring. Might try the gloss icier this time.

Flat black rattle can spray paint is nothing like plasti dip,
I did my console. Looks good to me and no glare. I wanted it to blend with the leather tank bib.
And hide the spider lines in the chrome. Had it on for 3 years, no peeling yet.
