Black slip ons
I have a set of Vance & Hines 4.5 Titan slip ons on my ultra. Previous owner lived on a dirt road. Thus the slip ons were kinda stained. I scuffed them and shot with rattle can bbq grill paint last year. They held up fine until we just took a 5,000 mile trip from Ga to Montana, Sturgis & back. The paint I put on is now burning off. Maybe I didnt sand them enough? I have a small portable sandblaster, so I can strip them. A tech at the vance & hines trailer at Rapid city Harley told me that power coat will not hold up. I was surprised at that. The bbq grill paint I used was Rustoleum 2000 degree bbq paint. It was flat, and my headpipe heat shields are more of a satin or gloss. What have you guys used that really works? I take a few pretty long trips a year. I get em hot. I dont just ride around town. Thank you.
