Default Can I paint without primer

The original paint (silver and black) is pretty good. I want to paint it orange with some flame decals and then clear coat over it. Do I need to spray primer or I can just sand the clear and paint orange over it? If yes what grit sand to use.

You can paint right over the stock paint. But if you're changing the color a primer or sealer would be recommended. A good primer will fill in small scratches and imperfections that you might not see until its to late. A primer or sealer will also protect the new paint from the old. Spraying one kind of paint over another sometimes results in weird things happening to your new paint.
