Previous owner had a sticker on the rear fender. Sticker and residue was removed without an issue. Washed and detailed the bike for the first time in the sun and realized that the ghost of the sticker is still visible.
Any advice on the process for making it disappear?
Besides a small amount of goo gone, soap and a spray wax detailer nothing has been used on it yet.
What color paint to do you have?
If its a clearcoated paint, not knowing what has caused the ghost (i.e. is it faded all but where the sticker was?) I'd give a claybar a try. Claybar will take out/off all kinds of stuff. Its good to have for detailing and is a relatively cheap "try" at it.
I have ghosts all over mine. I have denim black so not sure the clay bar will help. Gonna try it and see.
I'm not a denim black expert but I wouldn't use a clay bar on it! I know you're not supposed to wax it. I'd do a little more reading on the subject and ask around. Claybars take out all kinds of contaminants including wax, I just don't think it would react well on a denim paint that isn't to be waxed...maybe even ruin it.
The paint is faded and needs to be repainted anyway so not worried about damaging it. I tried my clay bar and it did nothing at all. I still have a bunch of ghosts.
