I'm not going to share any details about exactly how/why it happened, and don't want any discussion about that here. My son is a senior in HS, and one of his freshman teammates at today's meet took a full discus throw straight to the forehead. He never saw it coming. They took him away in the ambulance withan obvious deformity of his forehead, then from what my son said flew him to a much bigger hospital for emergency surgery. He was conscious, alert, and stood up to get on the stretcher. I think he and his family could use whatever prayers he can get right now that there aren't any complications and his surgery and recovery goes well.
LORD GOD, maker of heaven and Earth,
We lift up this young man and ask you intervene on his behalf in the most remarkable way-
YOU created the human body- Fearfully and Wonderfully made were told.
You designed it, you can fix it by your spoken word. You are the Great Physician.
Please God, in the name of Jesus Christ, speak the healing Word to this young man.
Keep his family in Your Perfect Peace. If they dont know you Lord, reveal yourself to them as Healer, Sustainer of all things, Comforter ABBA Father and Savior.
His dad made a post on social media yesterday, so really the first real update I've seen since Saturday. After his initial MRI at the first hospital, it was very clear he was in way more trouble than anyone thought. He was transferred to children's hospital where he was diagnosed with a skull fracture with a minor brain bleed, a crushed right orbital bone and nasal canal structures, fractured vertebrae, a cut above his eye that went all the way to his skull and took about 50 stitches to close, and trauma to his right eye. His first surgery Saturday night to try to save his right eye was unsuccessful, so they had to remove it. After another 48 hours in the hospital and countless specialists they were able to take him home Tuesday night to recover and rest for the next round of surgeries to rebuild his orbital and nasal canal bone structures scheduled next week. Please keep praying as there are still many hard days to come for him.
