Please say a prayer for my Dad!
He is totally out of shape and 79 years old and has not been to a Doctor in years and when he really needs one, LIKE NOW, he still is stubborn and refuses to go in to see a Cardiologist or the E/R Room (or even an internist), where he REALLY SHOULD BE (the E/R).
THe past week his resting heart rate has been in the 40s, anywhere from 43 to 49 (70 is normal for him) and he feels weak and was losing his breath just walking up steps today.
CLEARLY he has some type of serious issue going on and most likely BLOCKAGE of some arterys, and yet he refuses to go to the E/R or Doctor to get checked out.
He may even have had some form of heart attack already and I and my sister (and Dino to) have tried every single type of tactic to get him to go to the E/R or at least see a capable doctor ASAP, and he flat refuses to go and would rather take his chances and simply FLAT OUT REFUSES to go to the E/Room and get checked out.
Sending a private ambulance for him will not help either b/c if he won't go with me to the E/R, trust me when I tell you he won't got in any ambulance!
I convincedmy brotherto come with me to go to his home in River Forest, IL,tonight for a family intervention to try to get him to go to the E/R room with me, and although i knew it was a long shot, i had to try one last time and of course no luck and he JUST WON'TFREAKING GO!
Its really frustrating, b/c he most likely is a heart attack waiting to happen, and if he just faced his fears and got completely checcked out he probably could go another 20 years, as he has been in excellent health his whole life (depsite being about 4o lbs overweight and out of shape). :
My entire family is very worried needless to say and we are on pins and needles and your PRAYERS for a good outcome would certainly be appreciated.
THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS!
Just came back from the E/R at Loyola Univeristy Medical Center, Maywood, IL(a top cardio hospital in the Midwest.
It's 12:45 a.m CSTand things are pretty good and Dad is scheduled to get a Pace Maker in the morning and is stable at Loyola Cardio ICU Unit.
My first cousin is one of the top Pacemaker Specialists in the Midwest, and he heads up Loloyla's pacemaker practice, and he will be supervising my Dad's procedure in the morning and this is good news as my Dad has the most comfort and confidence, now that he went to the E/R (Hospital of his choice) with my cousin supervising everything (and who my dad has great confidence in).
Will update everyone tommorrow afternoon as I wil be at Loyola all day and thanks for your encouragement, prayers and continued prayers, (as the power of prayer is very powerful and so far our prayers our being answered with getting dad to the E/R and getting fixed up with a little new high performance msd ignition box (a pacemaker).
Thanks again everybody you guys are the best!
