Thanks to all of you who said a prayer for my mother. I don't know if you remember but she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last spring. It had spread to her liver by the time they found it. The outlook for this type of cancer is not good but thanks to the many prayers and a caring doctor and staff at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis the tumor in her pancreas has shrunk a bit and the tumors in her liver have shrunk even more. Not cured but holding her own. The doctor says she is doing "remarkable" and she would call the cancer "stabilized". Mom feels good most all of the time and can eat keep down most any food she feels like. Still cooks, cleans house, babysits her grandkids and great grandkids and can go out and enjoy herself when she has the opportunity. That would be good for any 80 year old but really something for one with pancreatic cancer. She will probably have to take treatments for the rest of her life but as long as they are helping her that's all right. Maybe someday they'll find a cure for this terrible disease but for now everyones prayers, Mom's faith and the good doctor's treatment regimen seem's to be doing a good job.
