Default Heel toe shifter free wheeling

On a 2015 triglide classic heel toe shifter will not return after up or down shifts?

Try and isolate what's binding at all the pivot points.

The heal sifter splines are probably stripped, take it off and try cleaning up the splines on the shaft with a little wire brush and the ones inside the sifter with a spring hook or a little screw drivers blade, reinstall and tighten the bolt down real tight. If it is actually striped it will need replaced. It the future don't stomp it down so hard.

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. The return spring in the transmission may have broken, but also check the other things suggested.

Something could be binding but like grbrown, I would suspect the shifter pawl spring. Get the rear wheel off the ground, disconnect the shifter linkage from the shifter arm on the tranny. Rotate the wheel by hand and try to shift through the gears manually. If the arm does not return, the pawl spring is most likely the issue. If the arm returns, look at the lever, pivot shaft and linkage. No fun replacing the pawl spring.

Also while checking as djl suggests, if the spring is broken then you should be able to return the lever to it's normal position, by hand, then select the next gear and repeat. I actually rode my Glide like that for quite a while, resetting the lever with my foot after every change, until getting the spring replaced.
