Stripped shifter and shaft

Stripped shifter and shaft
The shifter and shaft stripped on my 09 Fxdci. Found the shifter arm for sale but can't find the shaft online. If anyone has insights into where to find one and any other details from someone that has done the work themselves I would appreciate it.

back in the day when we allowed the shifter to run loose on the shifter shaft and wear out the splines, we would drill through both (at the correct setting and add a nut and bolt) until the "proper fix" could be had.
then checked the shift parts from time to time for being tight
