Default 07 FLHX Derby cover/outer primary sizes??

So Ive been slowly switching over my covers to Willie G skull covers, it was time to do the Primary oil so I picked up the Derby cover and went to work. Upon attempting to put the cover on, it became very obvious that it was the wrong size. when I went back to double check the box, it indicated that it fit 07-later touring and trike models with a narrow profile outer primary. I cant find anything indicating that different primary's were used during that year but I also know 07 was an odd year due to the 6 speed transmission transition. Are there 2 primary sizes? more maybe? and how do I tell.

There are two primary width narrow and the normal aka wide. Your 07 is 99% most Likely a normal wide one.Wide is was most common until around 2015 you started see them on Low models and then they became standard on 2016 Touring . The Narrow Primary has a larger derby/primary cover..
The cover for the Narrow primary is 8 inches

Thanks for the info Smitty901, thats more than I got with hours of web searching. I would have just checked the service manual but its on a shelf that was just walled off by boxes of my kids stuff whom we just sent off to Army basic training, so I appreciate your help!

When I purchased my 2016 it had the narrow primary . I had two of the standard primary derby covers I would have like to use . Gave one to a friend and one to a bother inlaw they did not fit. The reason for the narrow primary was to provide more inseam it allows leg to get closer to the bike. That was why we first saw them on the low models.
