[]Having trouble shifting into 2nd gear. I have a 2003 Superglide with 31,000 miles on it. Started having problems getting it to shift into 2nd gear. All other gears shifts perfect, no clutch slipping, no noise, down shifts fine into all gears. It seems to get worse after I drive it for 30 -60 minutes. I go to shift into 2nd, shift lever goes up but when letting clutch engage it acts like it still in neutral. I fight with 2 or 4 times and it will go into 2nd and other times I end up shifting back into 1st and trying it again and sometimes then it will go into 2nd. I had all the linkages(Forward Controls) adjusted, changed oil in trans and primary, had clutch adjusted and primary checked. It doesnt do it all the time but it is getting a lot more frequent. Any direction I can go to fix it? Clutch? Primary? Trans? Please help this is my main transportation and I love to ride. i put 21000 miles on it in the past year.
I'm not familiar with the trans for your bike, but I know the Sportsters tend to have issues with the shifter detent plate. It requires removing the primary to get to the shifter drum.
