Dyna Glide down shifting problem
I down shifted from 5th to 4th when pulling off ofthe highway (about 60mph) on my96 dyna conv.and the bike felt like it shifted into into netrual ?Ipushed the shifter down agian and it grinded a little bit and went into gear.When I shifted the first time Idon't think I shifted hardenough to go all the way into4th, is that possible? Does this happen a lot? The bike has 18000 miles on it so I dont felllike the trany should be that worn out. Do you think this caused any reallybad trany wear? Thanks for any replies.

No problem mon. As long as it isn't a regular happening. You can ususlly find a few neutrals in between gears if you jiggle the shifter a little. Stomp that sucker, its a Harley!!!

Thanks for the response. I rode it some today and no problem. Just must not of hit the shifter hard enough, this is my first Harley, I guess I am just use to shifting my dirt bike.
