30t front sprocket how to?
just curious, anyone in here done it? i assume that the 30tooth sprocket will screw with the speedo being right, there is an alternative, changing out the compensator sprocket and clutch basket, am i right? just wanna drop the gearing on my 08 streetglide a bit.

If you go with the EVO 30T that replaces the compensator, it won't throw the speedo off. The only thing you lose is the 6th gear light. I have it and love it. Another alternative is to change out the tranny side to something like the Andrews 30 tooth kit. This will throw the speedo off about 4mph and it is more work, but you keep the compensator.

One other alternative is to replace the clutch basket with say, a 49 tooth ring gear that will give you the gearing of about a 32 totth primary sprocket. It will not screw up the speedo but 6th gear light will not work.

EVO sells the kit which includes the 30T sprocket and 84L chain. Nothing else was changed on the clutch. I did also install the SE clutch spring.

great input guys, thanks. something to ponder now for my winter project along with the 103" provided the new 2010 models don't offer something that i absolutely gotta have.
