49t clutch ring gear

I do not see as much on this as the 30t pulley swap, Will it give similar results? seems to be many hours/tools easier.

thanks for opinions

If I remember correctly it would be similar. Plus your speedometer will be ok.
Might lose 6th gear light but not sure.

Yes it is. All you need is a press to work on the clutch hub/bearing or get your dealer to do it for you for a few bucks. My dealer recommends (and I agree) a new clutch hub bearing while it's apart. You will have to drill out the rivets that hold the factory sprocket on and countersink the hub just a little for the new bolts that hold the 49T sprocket on.

I did this swap almost immediately on my '07 Road King and love it. No change to the speedo and the 6th gear light will work if you use a TTS (or equivalent) to update the primary gear ratio to 1.44

lowering the gearing(especially on 07-08) is one of the best performance mods for the money,doesn't seem to interest to many maybe because it doesn't come with the big inch bragging rights?
