Primary/Transmission/Driveline/ClutchFind answers to general powertrain, primary and transmission. Have clutch issues and need suggestions? Post them here.
I bought a clutch kit for my '93 Electra Glide. It came with a Diaphragm Spring that purports to be 20% stronger. I'm thinking I don't need a stronger spring....
Also, It came with extra plates (friction and steel) to omit the riveted Spring Plate that is sandwiched in the very middle of the clutch pack. I'm thinking I should leave the OEM spring plate in there.
The reason for clutch replacement is because of plate damage I did when I rebuilt it last winter causing clutch drag. I don't have wear or slippage issues. The bike is not a racer and it is not pulling very much weight but I made it about as hot as you can without boring the case for major displacement increase.
Am ready to soak plates and assemble.
So, how's my thinking? I ask because it's usually pretty dangerous.
