Default Help needed on changing clutch lever

I have a 09 Softail. Changed the brake lever fine but issues with the clutch side. I loosen it up as mush as it allowed on the cable adjuster and loosened the bolts but still can't pull it far enough to get the cable pin out. What am I missing..? from all I've read... it should be out already...

Back off adjustor as far as you can. Lever should be loose enough to touch the grip. Remove the C clip on the bottom side of the pivot pin, push the pin up and out. You should then be able to remove the lever.

Past that part.... Lever not coming out far enough to get clutch cable off. Seems as if I have no choice but to loosen it from the tranny.
