Default clutch noise

im helping a friend with their 06 superglide, there is a grinding sound as the engine runs coming from the clutch area. pull the clutch lever in and the noise stops. we readjusted the clutch (just incase it was something simple) and we tore the primary cover off and can find no eveidence of any problems. no wear marks on the cover, chain tensioner, chain, nothing. everything looks brand new. there was a minor amount of shavings on the plug magnet but not enough to indicate a real problem. (least not in my simple mind). anyone have any ideas? im thinking its a bearing my friend thinks the clutch itself is rubbing something.
