I've included a link that does a great job of describing the security system & the pager range.
I'm satisfied with it.
If someone really wants the bike they're going to get it no matter what security we use. This system just makes mine a little more difficult & hopefully the thieves will move on to easier conquests.
If that's a Softail you're riding the dealer may be slightly misinformed about the siren installation. It does install under the rear fender splash guard but the wheel does not have to come off. It's a simple plug & play procedure that takes less than 15 minutes. Remove the guard (two bolts located at bottom of fender), plug existing connector into siren, push siren into existing mounting bracket, reinstall guard. I did mine laying on the floor of the garage - figured it would take as long to put the bike up on the jack as it would to do the entire install.
Tom, thanks for the information. I may give it a go now. Appreciate the link on the system as well. Pat
My softail came with the alarm installed as well, our dealer puts them in every big-twin they sell. I don't even use the key anymore in the ignition, just to lock the forks. But then again, It is never really out of my sight when i'm out.
Mac, did you receive two key FOBs with your security system, or only one? The reason I ask is that I just purchased a slightly-used 2003 Softail Heritage from an individual, and he only gave me one FOB. I got two keys (one of which was the Gold Key), but only one FOB.
How do you like your Super Glide so far? I've put 650 miles on my since picking her up 04-15. I would have much more if the weather would have been more kind. I'm thinking I need some "stuff" at the 1000 mile look-see: synthetic oil, sissy bar with pad, saddle bags, and I'd love some forward foot controls and a wind sheild. Maybe even some new pipes. Also, where on the bike do you have you inspection sticker (if your state requires it)? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Have you considered taking it inside with you? That's what I finally decided to do with my guitar, rather than leave it in a car that got to 160+ degrees in the summer and having the glue melt and things warp.
Since my idea is prob. not feasible, I also look forward to hearing replies. Art
I was joking around with my wife and I asked her if I could bring it into the front room, she said NO!!! My bike came with the key fob. I can disable the electrical so that it won't start. It also has a lock on the ignition that is set by turning the key a certain way and it also came with a fork lock. If I wanted to, I can secure my bike with 3 different ways.

Thanks..........Blazer
Blazer, sorry I missed your question, and didn't post earlier. Yes, two FOBS for me, though I didn't get a golden key? Not sure what that is.
