We bought a 7 X 14 all aluminum trailer a couple of weeks ago for our bikes. We are using it to store them and enjoy the convience of the drop rear door. The trailer is beautiful but the roof leaks and is a total mess. Very poor workmanship!
I wish I had taken a ladder with me to the dealer and looked at the roof. There are no straight panels on the roof at all and there are actually places that will collect water in pools. The factory says that they will allow the local dealer to fix it and that he would do the fix on another trailer that he has in stock. NO THANKS! He cut a 2X4 about 3 inches longer than the distance from the floor to the roof and drove it in to push the roof bow up. The skin is stretched at the bow location higher than the bow so the pool is actually larger.
Do Not Buy An Enclosed Trailer From Aluma! The warranty was presented to us AFTER (conveniently) the purchase and it states that any repairs due to manufacturing defects must be performed at the factory and the shipping of the trailer to the factory is the owners responsibility. The factory is in Bancroft, Iowa - we are in Virginia. In other words; we have no warranty.
I know it's a long way, but cover the thing with graphics saying what a **** trailer it is and park it in front of their shop. They will run out with a check to buy it back. I've done this, and it works.
That is a very good idea. I'm in the process of negotiating with them at present but things don't seem to be moving forward for us. I'll keep this in the forefront of my mind!
