Default Brukus.com / Saddlebag secure

I got a saddlebag sucure kit from brukus.com. The replace the pin attachment on the newer Harley saddle bags. I have it on my Road King Custom. Now the theives can't cut the pins to get the saddle bags. I also have the "combi lock" that woeks very well. I don't have top take my bags off anymore at a motel or other stopover. The price is good and they are easy to install.

I was going to say a link and pics would work, but I went to the Brukus sight and they don't have squat for pics or much info either. Sounds like it might be a good thing, but right now might just considered a shot in the dark....lol

The Brukus kit arrived today. It took about 2 minutes per bag to install. They do indeed have a small stud in the middle so a standard torx bit will not work on them. Good quality, well packed, and arrived quickly.

I'm very happy with this kit.

One less thing to worry about on the road or while stopped at a motel, etc.

I just installed mine too......
Good idea although I personally couldnt find anyone who had a bag "fall off" or even stolen but I do buy into the concept.

The hardware was good. I would like to see a more robust clip to replace the clip they sent. Their clips are good but for me when I take a part off my bike I'd like to put the same size part back on.....The twist clips part was robust and the replacement clip was "well......"Just a clip"...I'd like to see a different design on the clip.

The other thing is I found myself screwing these things in much tighter than they are probably suposed to be. The twist clips was sort of an "automatic" tightness while the bolts tend to keep tightening until you see the rubber washers compressing to a point where you say to yourself.."holy crap I better back these off some before I crack a bag".

It's instintual to keep tightening these bolts until they are "Tight"....but if you do that you are tightining them way too much. They never really get tight and you keep screwing them in to get the feeling of being tight and eliminate the possibility of them coming loose. However tightening them like a bolt is way too tight...

Overall I like them but I have to see if they loosen up.

I think I've solved what bugs me the most about this product. What bugs me the most is that I personally dont think your supposed to crank these down and crush the crap out of your rubber washers. The twist pins dont do that so why should these...

With that said if I leave them snug and not tight like every other bolt in the world...I'm personally going to worry about them backing out from vibration.

What I'm going to do is take out the bolts and drill a very small hole through the end part of the bolt that protrudes out the back of the clip and put a small cotter pin through it.

This way I know the bolt cant come loose to the point of falling out should I not look in a bag for a month or whatever.....and I dont have to always remember to keep an eye on the bolt to see if it's vibrating out. I know it cant go any place with the cotter pin through it.

Just letting you know that I've had them in my bike for almost 2 years and they haven't loosened even a little.

I received my saddle bag clips and installed them in about five minuets they seam to be a good product . I wish the clip was a little bigger as I have had the bags of and on several times and the only complaint is the clips move out of position and have to be readjusted.
