Finally got a chance to look at the Saddlebag Secure kit. I was chosen to test these and did get them at no cost to me. I looked at the instructions before going out to the bike. Two things that I did not see in the instructions. 1. It did not say that there was a "lock" on the clip. I wondered how I was going to know that the clip was in the proper position. The way that the clip is made, once the clip is installed, just position the clip so that the lock is against the bike bracket and it is good. 2. The instructions say to not tighten screws to tight. It does not say what is to tight. I tighted the screws until the lock washer was fully compressed and added a half turn for good measure. The screws still did not feel tight. The total install took about 10 minutes, including putting the bags back on.
All in all, this kit appears to be a good add on. I will keep an eye on the screws to see if they stay tight and will show them off to all of the people I ride with. If there is any doubt about the security of your bags, this looks to be good insurance.
And no, I did not take any pictures and am not going to, at least not tonight. I was to busy doing the install and not concerned about pictures.
