I ordered the Advanblack saddlebag **** locks kit for $20. It arrived in a black box, which impressed me, most of this stuff we order online comes in a manilla envelope or a sandwich bag.
Well I got way more than I ordered, I got rubber grommets, rubber inserts for the bottom of the saddle bags, but I also received 4 small metal plates, and two other rubber pieces that I have no idea what they're for. I don't know if I got someone else's order or what, either way I'm pleased with Advanblack!
I bought this kit for my "new to me" 2015 Ultra, I just purchased, after hearing some of the saddlebags may fall off.
Those plates are used on the older styled hardbags to fasten the lid down . You more than likely have the newer designed bags so you will not need them .
That is a set of stuff you get/use when you buy their saddlebag bottoms, and you're using your hardware. Those thin metal plates are the same bolt pattern as the latch catches that are moved over to the back of the new lowers (the thing that the bag's locks catch on). You can use/add those for added strength. The extra plastic/rubber things, as I remember, were in case the bag needs to be shim'ed??? I didn't need or use them. They used to have a link on their website to a "How To" video for the lowers, it showed both those items and their intention behind them.
none of those things are going to stop you saddle bags from falling off. you need to replace the Dzus fasteners if that's what your trying to accomplish, the bolts off the 18's are really nice.

Yes, thats similar to what I ordered from Advanblack, this is a pic of everything I recieved, I thought I was just getting the *****, but received all the other "extras" as well, just wasn't sure what they were for.
I even went back the Advanblack website, to review my purchase, and it only shows the red ***** in their description of what i bought, so i was surprised when all these other parts arrived as well.
Not sure if I'm going to install the rubber channels on the bottom of the saddlebags or not, the bike only has 1,000 miles on it
Your bags should not need the rubber channels... they should already have 2 on each of them from the factory. Like I posted above, the rest of that stuff is what you would get if you had bought their saddle bags... its all nickel and dime stuff. They probably has some kits made up with their bag bolts too and grabbed the wrong box.
