Default Saddlebag supports

I got new throwover bags today that are fairly big and I thought I could get away without supports. Well, I can't so I'm looking for suggestions. The ones I am looking at are these... http://www.chopperscycle.com/page/VTS/PROD/69-230/22292

Thanks in advance.

Those supports are hard mounted to the fender strut, and dont look too swift when the bags are off.
Spending the 100 bucks and going with Easy Brackets would be a smarter move. No unsightly hardware left on the bike and you get rid of the yoke between the bags that will inevitably scratch the paint. It'll be the best hundred bucks you spent.

So do you just cut off the yoke and mount the easy brackets? And how do they look mounted... anyone have pics?

saddle bag supports are one of the things where the price is just ridiculous. I purchased saddle bags, as well as the layback plate and light kit, then realized that I would need the supports. Harley wanted $100 and most aftermarket ones were more than $50. So you know what I did, I made my own, out of the same materials that the stock ones are. I purchased some 3/8" bar stock, a couple of fittings and hardware. The end result was a quick detach saddle bag support that cost me a total of $6.00 to make. If you want I will send you some pictures.

Pleas do. More info would be great. My dad gave me a set of bags but I don't want to spend a hundred bucks getting them on.

Pics would be great... I'm all about saving a few bucks. And Easy Brackets are not $100. The cheapest I saw were about $145.

I will post up some pics on my lunch break. I will take some pics with the bags on and off. Heck, if you guys like them enough, I still have enough hardware/bar stock left over I could make up some more and send them to ya for a nominal fee.

Hmmm, do these brackets work with detachable sissy bar hardware? I'm still planning to go with Ghost brackets for a cleaner look.

There's a great company that I got my bags stiffened by. The company is called Leather Lid Inserts and I sent my bags to them and got them back in about 2 weeks, but they look way better then I expected and I got my moneys worth. I suggest leather lid inserts...They do a great job and you don't have to spend $800 bucks on a new set.
