It's about sharing it from your own perspective - there is no "as good". It takes time to do these as well as some foresight. Creating a road report is a great way to share information and a story. And who doesn't love a good story about riding? Anyway, I appreciate the effort Mike, and I know everyone else does too.

On the Go Pro - I'm bot sure exactly how the new ones work. Mines a version 1 non-HD. But, I can tell you that it's tricky knowing for sure that it's running. Also, it's tough to capture a great video because A - the footage seems to slow things way down, B - Sometimes they remove depth, so a steep climb just looks like going down a flat road, and C - you never know for sure when things will get interesting.

But when you get something good, it's pretty darn cool.

Well Bob, I don't know how our videos are going to turn out, but I'm going to try. This camera cost $500 plus any accessories we get, so I hope we get something good out of it. My goal is to get some videos that I can go back and edit to make a good short video from that will give us something to look at that will bring back the memories of the trip. We are also in the process of putting together a photo album to do the same thing.

Loved reading about your trip. Can't wait for the big finale. As I sit here looking out my window with about 3 feet of snow any stories of riding trips helps break up the long winter. And makes me wish for warmer days so we can start riding again!

Default Day 9. Saturday May 31st. Fayetteville, Ar. to Home.

With our room basically hanging out over Dickson St. (where all of the University of Arkansas students party) and only feet from the balcony of a bar, I didn't figure we would get a very good nights sleep. But I guess with the drinks we had had and being very tired from two long days, we actually slept well. And actually we were all so surprised that we actually talked to the owner about renting the place out for the Bike, Blues, and BBQ Rally in late September. Hell we would be right in the middle of the action. No go, he was already booked and it wasn't really big enough for our group that goes anyway.

After getting showered and packed up for the trip home, we walk out and find our bikes are still there and nothing has happened to them (actually I looked out the window as soon as I got up to make sure of that). After getting the bikes packed and ready to go, we go looking for some breakfast. I can't even remember for sure now, but it seems like we may have found an Ihop.

It doesn't really feel like we are heading home. I just remember feeling like we were just on the next leg of our journey.

A little history: I haven't been on many vacations before. Heck, I've never been gone away from home more than maybe 5 days. On any trips I've made before, I'm always ready to go home within 3 or 4 days.

When getting back on the bikes after breakfast we discuss our options on what route we want to take. We really planned on taking some of the better bike routes to get home, but looking at the radar, it shows a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms. So we decide to take a more direct line home which actually helps us skirt some of the storms.

The day is pretty overcast, with the sun shining a little every now and then. We are rolling along fine till we get to Ft. Smith. We are on a freeway heading through Ft. Smith when I can tell we are about to run into some rain. Its our luck that we are on a portion of the highway where there are no exits and its not a place that you would want to stop on the side of the road to put on your rain suits. Well sure enough, we run into the rain and the next exit isn't for a couple of miles. We don't get just totally soaked, but we are pretty wet before we hit and exit and find a place with a canopy to stop under. After putting on our rain suits we head back to the highway. And as you would know, by the time we get back on the highway, the rain stops. The rain suits are still good for a few miles since there is still spray coming up off the roads, but it doesn't take long before they're not necessary and now we're getting a bit warm to have them on.

I was really not ready to head home. I wanted to just head on ride to another great destination, but by the time we got on our side of Ft. Smith it was like a magnet pulling us home and I just let it take over. Hwy 259 from Poteau to Home is a very good biker road. Some real twisties and mountain type stretches make for a good ride. We stopped at a biker bar/bbq place that we had ridden past many times before, but was always had a destination to get to that kept us from stopping. We were the only ones there on this day, but I could see where it might be a pretty cool place if there were more folks there. Its only down fall is that it is pretty much in the middle of no where.

The rest of the ride home was pretty much uneventful and we just cruised that last hour reminiscing on our venture that we had just made. It was both sad and good to be home.

My bike ran flawlessly the whole trip. Rick and Cheryl had just got a new 2014 SG that was barely past break-in. They ran into a couple of small problems on our trip. The first was the gas cap. I had heard that some of the new '14's were having problems with them. The second was his tail lights quit working. I can't remember what the issue was, but he just changed them to the new LED lights that HD offered. They were much better anyway. Anyway, both situations were taken care of at the next dealer we stopped at. And both dealers took care of him quickly with no problems dealing with it on warranty.

Sorry, but I had zero pics from this last day. But I now have a new GoPro that my wife bought me for Christmas and one of my New Year's Resolutions is to take more pics on our trips.

We are now trying to figure out what adventure(s) we will go on in 2015. I'm sure it will be lots of fun and we will not want it to end. If we could just hit the lottery, it would be one adventure after another. I just can't figure out why we haven't won the dang thing yet. Someone told us that we DO need to buy a ticket though...

I hope you enjoyed our adventure and maybe some of the rest of you will throw something out there so we to can enjoy YOUR trip.

Till next time and maybe we will run into you on the road somewhere...

Nice finish Mike!

Funny how putting on a rain suit makes the rain go away. I'm surprised that just buying the expensive rain suit back at the dealer didn't cause a drought all on it's own.

My SGS had the sticking gas cap. It was an easy fix. Tail lights were fine but I changed out to Custom Dynamics pretty much immediately.

and thanks for the comment on nice finish. I'm glad someone got some enjoyment out of my blabber

Of course it is just how Harley rolls, but these Street Glides should come from the factory with the Custom Dynamic type lights on them. Those taillights on a SG just can't be seen.

Did you put them on the front too? I love my new Dynamic Ringz on the front. Very bright white lights with amber lights when you turn your signal on. It really lights up the front of the bike and I don't think anyone will ever say they didn't see me coming.

Yes, I have the Dynamic Rings also. They're excellent. The rears are an improvement, but I don't feel there is enough differentiation between run and flash. The bullet rings, I hear, are more noticeable when you put on the brakes or turns.
