MY brother and my self are planning a trip from Calif ornia to Key West this coming June. I was talking about it to my daughter in law and she said the over the sea road was a toll road does any one know if this is so
No tolls on A1A.
The easiest way to get to the top of the keys is the Florida Turnpike which is a toll road. Basically get on the T-pike and follow it to its end and it dumps you out on A1A at the mouth of the keys.
You can get there without hitting the T-pike, but it isn't worth it because of the Miami traffic.
I-10 east from wherever you hit it. If you are coming out of San Diego, you will hit it there.
I-10 east to
I-75 south to
Florida T-pike south to its termination at US1
US1/A1A south to Key West.
That is it.
On 75 south, get out in the hammer lane and haul ***. Any other lane and speed is asking for an early death. Be ready for brake lights around Gainesville.
The T-pike runs from the western side of the state north of Tampa southeast past Orlando to Homestead Florida, south of Miami. You will run the T-pike its total length from the beginning to the end.
Harley Gift shop in Key West, no dealer. Was down in Fed.
Two of us on Ultra's and have yet to get a toll road bill in the mail. Guess the Tour Pack covered our plates.
stay on 75 to Naples and ride across the old road to Homestead.
