Good day. We rode throughout that area last year.
Great service from Smoky Mountain HD in Maryville. If there on a week-end - stay for the concert.
Look to explore roads in Northern Georgia (Six Gap) - gets you away from the "herds".
Loved riding the Hellbender.
Broke the speed limit; (we rode at 60-65 mph), riding the Blue Ridge; saw no Law Enforcement.
We spent 2 nights (Friday and Sat) in Nashville, enjoyed every minute of it - 3 murders Sat night on 2nd Ave.
Have fun....
lol.....yes Nashville is a blast....we are here now!!!what a town!!!!good times down on Broadway!!1 last night there was a hockey game and the sold out Ryman both got out around 9pm....what a blast lines to get in everywhere (was a good thing)...
We're actually going down there next weekend. Thursday-Sunday. Just a long weekend to have some fun! Everytime we're there, we have tons of fun!

When in Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg, I would recommend fellow forum member Moondog99's cabin. I've stayed there before and it's a great place and a terrific value.
In Pigeon Forge and Sevierville I would suggest using the Veterans parkway to avoid the 6 lane congestion by all the tourist traps on the Spur. Gatlinburg can get real crowded, if you're just passing through and not stopping take the bypass down into the park.
I second the motion to take advantage of Moondog's cabin. We stayed there in July and were very pleased with it.
Do NOT attempt to ride through Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg on the weekend. Last July it took us close to 2 hours just to exit from the interstate and another 2 hours or more to go 20 miles. Not kidding. Weekdays aren't as bad, but we took off from the area early in the morning and came back to our Chalet in the evening.
As far as stuff to enjoy, we rode to the top of Clingmans Dome and then coasted for about 12-14 miles coming down the mountain (make sure you've got good brake pads, I've got kevlar racing pads on my bike). If you are at Deals Gap, take 28 and go back and see Fontana Dam, it's the one used in the movie "The Fugitive". Look for the Pineapple Whip stand outside of Robbinsville NC if you're headed from there to Cherohola. That stuff is like heaven in a cup. mmm, mmm, good.
This coming July when I go back I want to go see Bridal Veil falls.
The whole area is so beautiful and there are so many good roads that you'll need to go back again and again.
Carry your rain gear, we got rained on every afternoon but we didn't care because we were having so much fun.
I almost forgot, we got a lot of enjoyment on Foothills Parkway. It's right off the Dragon (129) and it'll take you back to 321 towards Pigeon Forge.
Reaching out to the best travel agents. Heading to (trailering down, coming from Cape Cod 9 day trip) Nashville in July for a two days, Then heading to Pigeon Forge to do some real riding for the rest of the trip (Dragon on the list) Looking for recommendations of places to stay and ride at both places, also to keep truck and trailer safe while were not around.
Thanks in advance
I,ll second that recommendation on Moondog's cabin---great stay--not to put negative spin on it, but, you are trailering [as I did], and you will not get a large trailer to his cabin very easily--if you only have a one place trailer you are fine. Take advantage of his offer--wonderful accommodations ,we stayed a week and loved it. By all means ,avoid the roads others here have told you near PF-GB- and Sevierville ,Nashville is fun ,but we enjoy Memphis [little out of the way tho].Rocker
Lots of hotels downtown in the middle of the nightlife.
Oh, yeah. We usually stay at the Renaissance on Commerce (that's where we'll be this weekend). Excellent hotel, walking distance to lots of fun, and they let us Park our bikes in a great location in the garage right across the street.
Hotels in the last area aren't cheap, but they're very convenient!

I completely agree on the Renaissance - and its parking. It is EXPENSIVE, but very convenient - once the kickstand is down, it stays down!
