The wife and I will be going to Street Vibrations Spring rally in Reno in June. After the rally we are headed south and staying in Groveland. The next morning we will ride thru the park and have reservations that night in Lee Vining. My Question is this, is 1 day enough? I can still add another night in Lee Vining if need be and back track into the park if its worth it. Thank you in advance!
Tioga Pass from Lee Vining to Yosemite Valley might not be open in early June. Check this website

You may want to take Hwy 80 west from Reno going over Donner Pass to Sacramento. Then Hwy 99 south to get to Groveland.
I recommend going into Yosemite for the day from Groveland. Come back out west to Sonora for the night. Next day go north Hwy 49 through gold discovery towns up to to Placerville. Then Hwy 50 east towards Lake Tahoe to Hwy 395. Then south to Lee Vining. Or spend the night in South Lake Tahoe. You won't regret it.

Depends what ya want to do/see in the park. Normal picture taking in the valley is an easy day. Riding to Glacier Point, lunch at the Ahwahnee (an excellent dining and lodging experience), climbing half dome or the falls, hiking Kennedy Meadows etc. all take a lot of extra time. The passes are normally open by June but always good to check. Lots of great riding in the area too.

My suggestion would be to head south from Reno on 395 to get to Lee Vining where you would pick up 120 west over Tioga. Tioga is likely to be open in early June. It has been a very light snow year. That way you get to see the high country of Yosemite. Then spend the night in Groveland and turn around the next day and come back into the Valley and spend the day there. Have lunch at the Awhanee, as Oldhippie suggested. You can then head to Glacier Point for the view from there. Or you could go to Glacier Point first and then head into the Valley.
Great recommendations. We are heading there and spending 4 nights in the Evergreen Lodge starting June 25th. Couldn't get reservations any closer...but heck it adds to the ride. We'll also be touring the area so will try some of these recommendations.

Groveland to Yosemite Valley is only a little over an hour's ride. From Groveland you have a lot of options for day rides in the foothills of the Sierra.
Hwy 4 over sierras is a recommendation to get to Groveland instead of taking Tioga Pass both ways.
Take hwy 88 off 395 then 89 to get to 4. 4 takes you over Sierras and Calaveras Big Trees. 4 connects to historic gold country hwy 49. Then 120 to Groveland. Going back take Tioga Pass. That makes for a nice loop.
Thanks everyone. We have reservations in Groveland on the 7th. Then Lee Vining on the 8th. I will make another reservation on the 8th at possibly in Sonora just in case Tioga pass is closed. We will not be doing any hiking, Just riding through to the valley and then through the park headed east since our reservation at Lee Vining is on the 8th. Is 1 day enough at the park to see the roadside views and a nice lunch somewhere or should I plan on a second day and double back? Thank you again for your help.
