Default Denver to Vegas

Just wanted some opinions, Im thinking of taking a weekend trip from Denver to Vegas....leaving very early this upcoming Sat morning and heading back Monday. Ive never taken the route. Anyone have an idea on how cold the weather conditions might be, Im assuming its fairly mountainous so Im not sure if its a good time to make that route.

Thanks

Back in the 70's myself and some friend's left Colorado spring's,hit 70 w. out of Denver to 15 S. in Utah and straight into Vegas. This time of year it could get cold and you could hit snow in the higher elevation's.The weather all the way across can be very unpredictable. If you could put the trip off until it warm's up a little more all across the route you would be better off and would enjoy it more IMO.Good luck and ride safe.

Looking at the weather, it will be at least 40-50 at the warmest part of the day at all the high elevation areas you would hit on that trip. And other than a storm that is currently hitting the Utah area and moving towards the Colorado mountains, the temps the rest of the week will be warm so the roads should be clear of ice as well.

If you are heading from Denver to Vegas, why not attempt the Heaven to Hell SS1000 ironbutt ride? Pikes Peak will be open on Friday/Saturday (though it will be very cold at the top early in the am) and Death Valley is not too much further than Vegas.

Good luck and ride safe.
