I like the sound of the Holiday Inn downtown but I'll have to sell it to the other guys in our group.
I'd much prefer to be in a better (safer), and closer to everything location and either walk or cab to wherever we have to go, and not having to worry about driving having a few beers, etc.
Wednesday (bike)night also sounds interesting, and I guess we'll have to see the ducks and have lunch at the Bass Pro!
was in Memphis in February to see The Lion King...Stayed at the Hampton Inn which is block over from Beale St...Highly recommend it. Didn't take the bike, but they do have covered parking deck attached to the Hotel and there are a few places next to the entrance for Bikes...believe the address was Peabody place....
I liked BB King's BBQ on Beale Street. Just walking around Beale St. at night was fun. Lots of music and entertainment going on. Graceland was good, but my favorite music place was Sun Records. Be sure and take the tour. It is really worth it.
Also, just off of Beale Street the Peabody Hotel. This is a 5 star that has a fountain in the lobby. Every morning (9 I think) they bring 5 ducks down the elevator from the roof and march them to the fountain where they stay all day. In the afternoon (5 I think) they march the ducks back to the elevator and take them to the roof. This is a very big deal. Get there early for the march if you want to get a spot. It gets really crowded.
