I get lower back pain any time I am on the bike for 3 hours. Best situation for me is every 2 hours get off the bike and stretch and take a 5 minute walk. It definitely helps.
i did around 2400mi over 4 days last june to see my niece graduate. left out of orlando, fl and went to atmore, al the first night then on to huntsville, tx. the return trip was straight through from huntsville to orlando at about 1050mi and just under 21 hours. it sucked. bad idea, i know that now. that being said, i laid the apes back on the way out of huntsville and it was like riding on a couch even with a dyna and 412's. when i got back i went to the chiropractor the next day and got the adjustment and shock treatment. id recommend those rechargeable back things from icy hot and sleeping in a real bed whenever possible.
