Ride HWY 65 to Harrison, AR and ride HWY 7 from Harrison to Hot springs, AR. Go eat at Lamberts Cafe in Ozark, MO it's right off hwy 65 between Springfield and Branson. Watch out for throwed rolls.

I live in central Mo. and go to Ark several times a year. In my opinion avoid Branson like the plague, total tourist trap. There are so many roads off the beaten path. I would go to Eureka Springs as a starting point. HWY 23,21,62, west, Beaver Lake, lots of day trips. Pig Trail, Buffalo River, look it up.

Actually, 160 is way north of Branson. Take 76 out of Branson and you will run into 160 just west of Forsyth. Still a great road.

you're welcome

If by way north, you mean 5 miles, yep, it's way north.

To me it's still the metro area (if not Branson proper) as Branson has grown so much over the years.

Thanks to everybody for the info. I know Branson is a tourist trap but I got a cheap condo for a week through my brother in law so i'am stuck with Branson. I just want some day rides from Branson and back. Don't want to spend anymore time in Branson then I have to. Looks like I have quite a few on here now so thanks again.

Default Branson Ozarks votes

LOVE Jack's Fork river and the Current river but those are best done in a canoe.
Another big vote for Eureka Springs. Very cool town was once a resort getaway for the wealthy easterners who would stay at the lavish hotels and dip their butts in the hot spring water for therapy. Most of the main part of town was built in heavy some victorian lavish architecture and it is beautiful, the hills, and there are several great old hotels - I think one or two have hauntings. I guess that people stopped coming to bath in the springs during WWII or they discovered the springs don't have the health effects they thought, but the town got real quiet and the hotels abandoned until the 60's when the hippies moved in and took over. Now it's like a hippie time-warp community with great music and food festivals - and a very cool vibe. Check out Eureka Springs online.
