Zion National Park was incredible last year! We rode from Pensacola Fl to Vegas then up into Zion. Its like visiting a place Ansel Adams photographed! Actually he may have!

In the mid 70's I was in Zion when you could still drive up the canyon. It was incredible. We also hiked up the river a mile or more at the top of the road, which was so beautiful. In 2002 we were there on bikes and I was looking forward to riding up the canyon but for a good part of the year now you have to take buses up and miss out on so much. Maybe the should make an exception for motorcycles

I've been to Zion NP twice on the bike and loved it both times.

If you're staying at the lodge, you can drive / ride to it
and back out again as required, but once in, you have
to use the bus system.

BTW, the trout served at the lodge's restaurant are great!

The first time I rode through Zion I entered through the east gate which leads to the tunnel and the seven switchbacks that go down into the canyon. There had been thunderstorms earlier in the day. When I got out of the tunnel and started to descend the switchbacks, the traffic almost came to a halt, it was moving maybe 5 mph. The reason everyone slowed down was that there was a double rainbow descending into the canyon. And water was falling down all the red rocks that line the canyon walls. It was one of the most beautiful sights I ever say. No one wanted it to end, thus the slow, slow speed going down in the canyon.
