Looks to be on the Sorthern end of town. Maybe a bit too far to walk to the Million dollar Coyboy Bar and such down town. Their address is: The Virginian Lodge, 750 W Broadway, Jackson, WY 83001. Looks to be 12-15 blocks away south of downtown on hwy 26/89.

It's a Lillie bit out of the way. The way the locals explained it to us was its right on the edge of the cheap part of Jackson. $6 cheeseburger to a $12 cheeseburger for example. The bar next door is Elenoars bar and grill. Great food and a pretty good night life. We walked downtown and I would guess it took about 30 minutes but that was with a bunch of time checking things out on the way. The Virgianian lodge has everything you could want/need and was way cheaper than the others. We had two rooms with two double beds in each for $89.00/night/room. Good luck. Just a heads up the Harley dealership isn't much.
Using Cody as a hub for day rides last year, our group stayed at Buffalo Bill's Cody Motor Lodge. Great place in good location to walk all over town. Also, nice size rooms, friendly staff, bike wash and is very popular with other bikers from all over. http://www.codymotorlodge.us/
Have stayed in Red Lodge often over the years. Can't go wrong with The Yodeler, Red Lodge Inn or Alpine. Yodeler is best for walking into downtown area. All good, local properties and popular with bikers. Typical evening socializing in the parking lots is fun.
I was scratching my head about this Cheesehead, couldn't get why you were asking about motels only 15, 20, 60 miles apart. As others have stated why not pick a spot as a base? Are you really planning to change motels that often?

When I started that, there was a reason I was doing that...now the reason is gone. We’re planning to stay two nights in Jackson and Hill City to limit the amount of packing and unpacking we’re going to have to do. The stop in Sioux Falls, is a necessity as it’s not even the ˝ way point to MT.
Completed, we have:
Sioux Falls, SD - Done - Just some hotel for the ride out & back
Spearfish, SD - Done - Crow Peak Lodge - Never heard of this one, but it received good reviews. Scratched Hulett/Sundance due to a lack of options and room rates.
Jackson, WY - Done - The Virginian
I just booked the Virginia and got their last 3 rooms for the 2 days we'll be there at the end of July. Not $89.00 a night, rather $133.00 a night + 10% discount. The lady asked me if we were members of any motor club or AAA...she took 10% off for my HOG membership which amounted to a good chunk of change.
Still Open, we have:
Red Lodge, MT – Going after The Yodeler, Red Lodge Inn or Alpine – Whichever one I can land first
Custer, Hill City, and or Deadwood, SD (Now calling this the Back Hills area) – these will be combined into one place only. Not many options under $200 in Hill City…could use a hand here or we could land in Custer, Keystone for cheaper. I’m jumping on the www.custerresorts.com site later today as 'richkidman' mentioned to see what I can see.
Just to simplify things, I decided not to stay in Cody…we’ll bestaying in Jackson and riding south for a day into Utah. I hope I don’t regret not staying in Cody, but we have to leave something to do in the future. Also, we’re going to stay in one location in the Black Hills area, for simplification sake. I could use a hand with the Black Hills area.
Initially, I was looking at Best Westerns for the entire trip, but they're so darn expensive that last week of July or so, that we just opted for highly rated lower cost options. The 10% discount really did not do much to compare to the savings I’m finding with other options.

The last week in July around the Black Hills be prepared to pay quite a bit. I like to stay at The Gold Country Inn in Deadwood. 3 Blocks from Main St and nice rooms
