Default HD Ride Planner

Is there a setting in HD ride planner to avoid interstates? If so, how is it selected? I am new to planning trips using a gps. I am used to just pointing the front wheel in a general direction and taking off. However, I am trying to plan a trip with some time constraints.

Thanks

I don't remember a setting for interstates in ride planner. I just looked and didn't see anything. just make sure you put enough way points in on the roads you want and it seems to work better if you make your whole trip into smaller day trips. when you load it up on the gps make sure the boxes that say fastest and that stuff aren't checked otherwise it seems like it messes up sometimes. I always leave it on scenic I think it is on the bike settings. hopefully some of this works for you and good luck!!

i believe after you download the route it will take the settings on your GPS and make them go whatever way you have them set to. Like if avoid hiways is set on your GPS even though you plan the route on ride planner on the interstate the GPS will reroute it. The way i ensure it is with a lot of way point at ramps and on the off highway road.

Actually there is a way to avoid highways on a drop down. It has to be selected for each leg (waypoint to waypoint.) the ride planner is great, but it's built on google technology that is designed for the fastest route. I'd give a better description if I were on a computer (on my iPhone)

It's there - I'll try to get back to you.

Ok - click "show directions" and click the box that says avoid highways for this segment.

Should do what you need.

Have a good one
