Heading out second week of June up Calif, Ore and Wa coasts to BC...question. I know Canada has strict firearm laws so wont be crossing with handgun. Any ideas on where to leave it on US side(short of digging a hole in the forest and stashing it) ...was thinking maybe bank security deposit box..but not sure if out of state person can get one. guess I can call...but have to time both trips to bank hours.....
Any advice appreciated
Good plan,Canadian Border Services will gladly take in your sidearm and store it,but I don't think they will let you pass and give it back as quick as you like...Anyways,if you are coming to BC,book your hotel rooms now if you still can, this summer is going to be a record year for tourism, rooms will be in high demand and in some areas a bit pricey.

Maybe call CBSA before you leave and ask them about leaving your handgun with them at the border. It might give you time to figure out other options if the CBSA can't/won't hold your gun for you.

They will not keep your guns for you.It looks like a handgun can be brought into Canada, but it is a big hassle and you will definitely NOT be carrying it around concealed.
