OK, I guess it will be hwy 88 & 12, unless 108, 49n and 12e is 3 times better? Looking at the map, you would think they are similar.
My initial plan is to hit the coast north the G.Gate Bridge (Hamlet area)and then stay on 1/ 101 all the way down past LA. I'm hoping to find tent camp grounds along the way.
Does this sound reasonable or what would you advise ?

If you pass over the Golden Gate Bridge in the south direction, you'll need to go to the Golden Gate Bridge web site within two days to pay your toll. We locals have a transponder to pay the toll. There are no toll collectors on the Golden Gate Bridge.
