So our trip has to start in Niagara Falls and a must end in Utica....this is the third day of an 18 day trip to the northeast....
Stopping by the Grand canyon of the east.....Watkins Glen....Toughannock Falls......winery on Cayuga Lake......dinner in Syracuse at the Dynosaur BBQ (Syracuse ) sleep in Utica..
Looks good, I think you'll enjoy it. The poutine at Dinosaur is great btw...even if it's a heart attack on a plate.
Post up some pics if you get a chance too!
yeah I wouldn't bother with Eternal Flame Falls. I live about 7 miles from there. It's just natural gas seeping out the ground in a creek bed and you can light it on fire with a lighter. We've hardly had any rain for a month so the creek is probably about dried up too.
Definitely go and check out Letchworth State Park. Entrance Fee's gone up to $10 now. Get on Route 5 and 20 from NF to Utica for sure. Beautiful Road where a lot of people had used it before Thruway came along. There's a lot of places to see in Finger Lakes.
My favorite winery's at Bully Hill right above Hammondsport on the West side of Keuka Lake. They got good food as well. Awesome view of the lake. Go on the back road between Hammondsport and Watkins Glen. Aim for the Town of Tyrone, Waneta and Lamoka Lakes. You'll enjoy the hilly scenery all around. Suggest that you get to eat at Seneca Harbor Restaurant at the Village of Watkins Glen at the bottom tip of the Seneca Lake.
Definitely Ithaca since they got 3 State Parks to choose from. My favorite's Taughannock State Park where you can see 2 different views, Entrance to the Top's free, but to the Bottom isn't free...Probably about 1.5 miles of walking to the Falls. Awesome view !.
Looks good, you might be disappointed at Taughannock Falls only because it's been so dry here there is very little water going over the falls. BTW, we're in Bonita Springs, Fl. "in season".
