App help for long rides...
Ok, I have a GPX file that I can import into my Iphone 6. I want to be able to open and get turn by turn directions in my bluetooth earbuds. The problem I am running into is, either the app won't allow you to import a GPX file, you have to create it in the app itself. Or, if it will let you import the file, it only allows for 25-100 points. My gpx file is around 300 miles of back road riding. The last app I tried to open it in said there were 4000 data points, which i find hard to believe.
So is there an app that you can get turn by turn directions, following a gpx file that was created on the computer?
Thanks for the help!
Jeff
There's a new iPhone app called "Scenic". A nav app by a guy who rides for people who ride. You can import a GPX file and get turn-by-turn voice directions. I think it's limited to a numbe rof "waypoints" but I can't remember how many - I don't think this is the GPS points you are referring to.
I've played with importing custom routes (made in Google Maps) and it seems pretty easy. I've not yet tried the turn-by-turn voice commands, but the reviews are good.
It's like $10/year for a subscription or pay-as-you go by buying $1 credit that let you import and use a map file. They give you 5 credits to try it out.
