I am happy with my Harley nav. It's true it doesn't take more than 20 waypoints. I save my trip in stages and it works out fine. Just don't out your whole trip in at once. For backup I use Google maps. ..If u are I. Cell phone fringe areas download maps on Google in advance . But it's easy to break up your trip in stages on Harley ride planner

Get a grease pencil and write the rd names or # on the shield that you are riding that day. Wipe it off at the end of the day and write the next days roads.

Actual maps are what I've taken to calling my analog back up system. :-)

Rand-McNally. Large, easy to read color display even in bright sunlight.

Me too. Free from AAA, if you are a member. No batteries, no wifi, no cell service, no problem.
Edited to add - Butler Motorcycle Maps! Designed by and specifically for motorcyclists. Describes road conditions, elevation changes, and more. They are sturdy and water resistant. Well worth the money.

I use Google maps to figure a route before leaving .
On the road I use paper maps . Part of the fun is going
down the wrong road & figuring it out .

My advice to you would be to contact your provider & buy an international addition to your plan. I did this when I was in Montreal & later in Hinkley, England (visited Triumph!). If I remember correctly, I paid AT&T $30 for 4G coverage in Canada for two weeks. Totally worth it to be able to use my phone like a normal person & not "budget" my "air time."
