Default Infotainment question maps

Kinda road trip related I guess....
Ok First I have READ THE MANUAL... but I am still confused.
Using the Harley website. No problem I can create and edit maps.
Yes I know that after you make them on the site and download to the bike it can change. So I use waypoints to force the route I want. No problem.
Here is the problem. If I take a trip with multiple stops and label the stops as locations its cool . But when I download it I get like 20 trips on the bike. Example Fort Lauderdale to Pensacola with 4 stops (locations) of places to see on the way. When I download to bike it says Pensacola 1 pensacola 2 pensacola 3 etc etc Cant I simply have a TRIP with stops without a dozen trips listed on the bike and trying to sort em out ? IS there a way to do this that I am missing or a work around ? Thanks in advance.

using "rideplanner",
stops seem to show as different trips, I right click each on the map and change to waypoints. only each day has a trip, for me its easier

I am brand new to this, so I am still learning, but I have had better luck with Moto Go Loco (https://www.motogoloco.com/login) than I have had with Harley Trip planner. Using waypoints seems a little easier.

One thing that is odd on the bike, is that when I come up on a waypoint, I need to go into the navigation menu and choose "Skip next way point" in order to continue on my route (it takes 4 actions on the joy stick to do it if I keep the nav onscreen menu selected on the screen).

Easy fix. Let me explain. Most of us start our trips at home so we use home as the start. Don't do this. Make it a block away so as u drive off u approach the start as first waypoint. Then u don't have to skip waypoints.

Thank you!
Funny thing, I had figured out not to use my home as the 'start' (now I don't remember why). I just make, what would have been my first waypoint, the start. But I still skipped waypoints when I get close to them.. I never figured out that I didn't have to do that.

I have a 16 CVO Limited and I have always used a Garmin Road tech 60 on my previous bikes for GPS routing. I really liked the Garmin.

I use Mapsource to plan my routes using waypoints to get the GPS to go where I want it to go. I planned each days ride and called it 01 Friday, 02 Saturday etc. I then save them all as 2017 trip as a GPX file and downloaded them to a jump drive.

That being said I just completed a 12 day trip and had my route for the entire trip all planned out. I had 130 waypoints in all of the routes and the BOOM does not like that! I simply loaded 4 days at a time into the BOOM and it actually worked pretty well. At the end of the 4th day I deleted all of the routes or trips as BOOM calls them and downloaded the next 4 days trips.
A few times the BOOM changed my routing but for the most part the BOOM operated pretty good. I have the Garmin mounted on the bike as well and was using it too, that is how I know the BOOM was changing my route.

I like to stop at crazy things like the worlds biggest shoe or the Lincoln Memorial out in Kentucky somewhere and I make those waypoints in Mapsource. I need to start naming those waypoints as the item I want to see. The BOOM said I was arriving at my waypoint on the left and in my mind I am going there is something here I wanted to see but I couldn't recall what. When I looked to my left there was ole Abe in all his glory. A U-turn was required to go back and get pics!

I wish the BOOM had a pause though so like when I pull into a gas station it does not try to recalculate. The option for this is to hit stop and then it will not recalculate but when you go to restart the trip in BOOM you need to know which waypoint is next in line.

I am not ready to take the Garmin 660 off of my 16 just yet but I am a lot more comfortable using the BOOM gps now than I was prior.
