That's true. I have the 4. Didn't think about that.

Good idea. Problem though if it rains.[/QUOTE]

I use the enclosed back piece with a hole drilled in it. Take a waterproof bandaid and cover the cord. It has worked like that for quite awhile.

Probably be fine in all cases except submersion. I've seen it done with microphones too.

I've found that the helmet mount makes for a sea sickness type of feeling when viewing videos. Every movement of your head is captured by the camera. I'm still using the Hero 2 and it still works like a champ. Mine is mounted with a small mount that is under the left mirror stem. (you can just see it in the below picture) Granted, I ride a Deuce so I don't have the big fairing and windshield that the touring bikes have, but with different length Ram Mount arms, I can position the camera so that it sees around the windshield. I used the camera on a rented EGU on a 8 day trip out west. I mounted it using a small ball clamp on the handlebar.

I use the skeleton case and a power cable from a USB power port. Never have to worry about battery going belly up half way through the day.

I have apes on my bike and mounted my hero5 right next to my clutch mount. It kept it high enough so you don't see the windshield, and it is always viewing where the bike is going. Also, it makes it easy to hit the button for on/off or snap shot easy even with gloves on. I have like 60gb of video I took in yellowstone last summer that I still need to edit down and make a little 5 min video out of.

I use a helmet mount for my Go Pro. I only put it on when riding some very scenic areas, like Beartooth Hwy. Think i spent more time adding music and editing then i did riding it. But it did turn out great.

For my GoPro, I use this mount:

If you're looking for just pictures, you can set the GoPro to take a snapshot every "x interval" amount of time.

I bought a power adapter from Amazon that plugs into the battery compartment on the GoPro and plugs into the cigarette lighter on the bike...

Get a 64GB memory card (or a few) and you should be good for about 8 hours of (video) record time....or about 10,000 pictures.

Thanks... that looks good. I don't do videos unless someone's trying to kill me and I have time to get it running. I am still concerned about FOV but I guess I will have to try one out at BestBuy so I can learn more about changing the zoom factor...

I mount my GoPro Hero 4 on the mirror stem on my Ultra Limited. the FOV includes a small part of the fairing along the bottom and right hand corner of the picture which I find adds some points of reference. It's actually a good position to be able to press the recording button to star recording or to capture a still frame if the camera is set up for it.

The link below is for a short video I've just edited of a ride in Spain with this setup

The RAM type mounting makes it very easy to mount and dismount the camera at the start and end of the ride. I often leave the housing on the mount and remove the camera when I'm away from the bike.

Check out the Sony FDR-X3000. The reviews on youtube show better stability and picture quality. I'm thinking of getting one.
