We didn't stop at all the traps, just the more memorable ones - otherwise it would have taken longer. They say if you REALLY want to experience the whole thing - it will take about a month. That's too much for me, a week was doable. The Route 66 book they give you (about 100 pages) covers "EVERYTHING" about it. It should be on everyone's bucket list. Glad I did it. Then did a Saddlesore 1000 on the way back. Crossed off 2 items from my bucket list.

Next I'd like to do the whole Lincoln Highway from coast to coast. That would be a REAL challenge. That, I think is pretty much impossible.
Which dealer would that be, does he advertise on his website?

It was Wild Fire in Villa Park, Il. It's part of a group of dealers called Windy City Harley - about 10 dealers in the area. Doesn't help with competition anymore.
They don't do anything with other websites, just their own. The tours are very well prepared and cover just about everything. A little more costly then doing it yourself, but very enjoyable non the less. I've been on 3 so far = Route 66, Sturgis, and Tomahawk Open House Rally.

Semper Fi btw
It was just a small stretch of road that was so tore up (about a mile or two) it was very uncomfortable to ride - especially on a TriGlide. I don't remember what state it was in since I've deleted that part from my memory, but it was out west.

That would be a bad stretch in California if my memory serves me right East of Barstow

Could be. All I know is we had to leave the road we were on to get to it. It is an abandoned section. It reminded me of some of the streets in Washington D.C.

I did it in 2010 on my 2008 Street Bob. Rode from NY to Chicago & then took 66 to Santa Monica Pier. Took us 11 days but we lost a day and a half due to weather. We also visited Grand Canyon & Vegas on the way west. Was a great trip & am glad I did it. Def take in the sights as well as the locals along the way. You won't regret 1 bit of it all.
