Galena bound

Heading to galena il. In a couple of week. Staying at grant hill motel. Just wondering about places to eat, drink and ride. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the civil war museum, pretty cool history of people from that area, bunch of the leaders,sargent's lieutenants, were from that area and probably grew up knowing of each other from childhood.

I like the scenic ridge road from Galena to Savanna. Check out the Iron Horse Saloon and Poopy's in Savanna.

Lots of shops, bars and places to eat in Galena. You can easily spend an afternoon just walking from one to the other in Galena.

Drive down to Savannah Il , Poopy's great music and bar.... you can also do Stagecoach road....and drive to the Mississippi River ....head north to the bluffs....lots to do....

I agree if you've never been to Poopy's and the ironhorse it is a must see for any enthusiast. I heard the Ironhorse was owned by one of those American Picker guys which would explain why it could pass for a small motorcycle museum. Beware of the bridge in Savannah though, it is out however there is a fairy that can take you accross if time is not a factor. Be safe and enjoy your ride!!
