It has been added to my list. It looks like we can catch H-58 in Munising, see the pictured rocks, and then head back south in Grand Marais on 77? Then maybe we'll hit 28 over to the soo.
Heading east on M-28 about 1.5 miles past the traffic light at M-123 pull in to the Clarke Motel for peek ... You'll be glad you did
Went through the UP again. If you like Cinnamon rolls you have to stop at Jack's Restaurant in Rapid River. Huge, fresh out of the oven for $3.40. We were there about 9 a.m. and they were fresh out of the oven.
If you can make the bridge in 4 hrs, Manistique is another 1 1/2 hrs west of St. Ignace on US 2, but it depends on what you want to see and do in Straights area. I would suggest checking out Porcupine Mt/Lake of the Clouds, better roads than Brockway Mt. As stated by others H-58 is a must do, Check out Miners Castle just outside Munising.
Lake of the Clouds
If we can leave earlier on Monday, we could ride further west on US-2 to stop for the night. You mentioned Manistique, anything worth stopping there for?
Really the only town of size between St. Ignace and Escanaba with more than one motel to choose from. Marley’s is a good stop for food and drink. Escanaba is about 50 miles to the west.
Made it to Escanaba a bit ago. Good weather and traffic all the way. Tomorrow headed to Copper Harbor with sightseeing along the way.
Take the highway that follows the coast out of Eagle Harbor (forget the number) Awesome road with great views both directions! The one up the middle is a good motorcycle road but sucks if traffic is bad. Almost nowhere to pass if you get caught behind a slow mover.
