Looks like a good trip.

Post #41 at the VOF Park, is the 7 Sisters. My wife and I got married there in 2014.

I too am planning a road trip, but I'm coming down from Vancouver, B.C. and heading south along the coast. Then I'll turn left and head east to Las Vegas. Spend a couple nights there and then head to Arizona. I've considered going full retard and heading to NOLA or even Key West. I won't get into the details, but I find myself currently unemployed.

I guess that will limit gambling in LV, but it'll all work out.

Thank you for the trip details, and the pictures were nice. Did you use a GoPro? I had a Contour 2.0, but the white balance screwed up, and I think the company went under. I liked its design better than GoPro, but I guess now if I want video, I may need to look into one.

Thanks again.

H

Of course I would say go for the road trip. I haven't been to the Keys since I was a kid in the early '80s. Used to go to New Orleans all the time when I was in the Navy because I was about an hour away in Gulfport/Biloxi. Last down in that area on my Wide Glide maybe 3 or 4 years ago when I rode out to the Tail of the Dragon for the first time. Made a loop, St. Louis to the Dragon, then south to Florida and over to Gulfport and New Orleans before coming back to STL.

One thing about Las Vegas are the hotels are cheap, at least when I was there. I got a pretty big suite just off the strip (within walking distance) for just around $60 a night. That was about $30 for the room and $30 for a "resort fee". I didn't gamble at all there. Its just not my thing since all I do is lose money.

I took the pictures with either my iPhone 8, or one of the two GoPros I have. I have a GoPro 3+ Black that I got several years ago from Amazon. Had originally ordered the $200 Silver model but they sent the Black by accident and when I called to see what was going on, they told me to keep it and assured me that I wouldn't be charged the extra. Earlier this year I got a Hero 6. I'm not too super fond of the 6 though, its ok but has occasionally messed up on me. It does has some cool features, I just don't use all of them

I saw those. You definitely spent more time around Hoover Dam and Lake Mead than I did. I need somebody with me sometimes to slow me down so I just don't blow on to the next stop on the list. I probably only spent an hour at The Grand Canyon which was the main point of this trip.

I still have a bunch more photos to go through. Haven't really messed with the videos yet, as I probably have a couple hundred GBs of videos alone.

It was a good trip, if a little cold at times. Already starting to kick around ideas for some trips this year. Thinking of going to the North East. I had to take the SGS in for the clutch recall sometime in January when we had a surprising warm day in St. Louis. The dealer went ahead and fixed my air cleaner box for free as they had some extras laying around from those who upgraded. My warranty ends in June this year so I'll probably replace it with an aftermarket AC then.
