I agree with 107inMO. Both great rides and the ride out of Jellystone thru the North east gate is also very good. Last time I rode thru there the Buffalo herds amazing.
I'd give up Glacier in a heartbeat to ride Beartooth, Chief Joseph and a bit of time in Cody. Been to them all. By all means do it. Also throw in Hwy 14 east of Cody
Beartooth Pass is well worth it, and Red Lodge is one of my favorite little towns, you might even want to stay and extra day there and take the (I think it is called) Chief Joseph Trail/Path/Pass to Cody, WY.
But Red Lodge is definitely a great little town. Make sure to have breakfast at Prindy's a small family owned diner with great food on the south end of town.
If you've that close and never ridden it, yes it is worth the extra miles. Just remember that it can close at anytime of the year so I would have a backup plan in order ..
Yes! We were in Red Lodge on July 10 a couple years ago and pass was still closed because of snow.
Also be aware that Red Lodge hosts a motorcycle rally either 2 weeks before Sturgis or the week before, can't remember which. Could be a problem getting a room that weekend.

agreed, we did this from Jackson, via Teton NP. Great ride but we didn't stop much to take it in. As mentioned, the east side of Yellowstone seemed a quicker path through the park and in my opinion is the nicer side. Grand Hotel, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone....
