Well this trips in the books! We had a blast! First week was t-shirt weather, second week was jackets then everything we owned as it was pouring down rain from the start and even some snow. Coming from Thermoplopolis east on our last big blast we were going to go over the wind river range but were told that they were going to close it due to snow so we went around. Good thing because they did close it.
14A to red Lodge area was beautiful as was Beartooth pass and Chief Joseph.
Our favorite town was Red Lodge where the hippys meet the cowboys. Least favorite was Jackson Wyoming. Expensive ans snooty although the Tetons were breathtaking.

Rocky I can't thank you enough for your tips!

This story starts with the shovelhead that has hanger wire holding it together. We met that guy near Devils tower. He had a umbrella sized oil slick under his bike. In taking to him he on his way to Gillette, no oil and no money. We got him a couple quarts of oil, tightened a few obvious leaks and away he went.
We hung out a few then took off. Miles down the road there he is on the side of the road, oil still leaking. I asked if he'd blown up the motor, Nope ran out of gas...
I say heck I'd have got you some gas if we'd known you were low.
So anyway, I'm ready to go to Gillette 30-40 miles and get him some when that "bagger" shows up. He says he has gas and sure enough he pulls out a 2 gallon container from the from right suitcase.
Say's he's been on the road for weeks, living camp spot to camp spot not camp grounds, spots.

The Western Rose and the owners Mark and Brenda were great! Thanks again!!
Mark sure can talk. Brenda introduced him as Chief Talks a lot.

We stayed at the Kudor motel in Jackson. Exact opposite, We prepay-ed for 3 days and wanted to get out of there after the first night. Basically it was a $60 a day room for $180. Tiny, smelled like a couple bottles of pinesol had been spilled and the toilet seat was broken off the toilet. We asked the several times if they could fix it but apparently the maintenance man didn't understand how they worked. Also the shower drain strainer kept floating up. Desk guy was indifferent and the owner was a B.
Of all the places we stayed that was the worst.

Walleye!

Hot Bison sandwich

I love IPA!

Great beer

Whens the last time you've seen one of these?

Was the fire burning in Cody when you were there?

I never got to Cody. Went South when I got to Yellowstone Lake and onto New Mexico instead. The Kudor looks good from the road but you never know. I have stayed at The 6 and Anvil..... I drove straight through Jackson this year.

Thanks for the closure Bill. That thing is, LITERALLY, a bagger.
