Rain Gear

One thing that I don't like about my HD rain jacket is that it doesn't have any elastic in the cuffs and they are hard to get over my rain gloves. It led me to buy another brand jacket. I really like my Sidi road boots-goretex liner. I have been using gore-tex fabric pants for the last year and happy with them so far but I haven't had to rely on them for riding in constant rain for more than a day. Mine are Rukka but there are lots of different ones. They do require more care. I like being able to just use a jacket which is easy to get on and off when needed and not worry about the lowers. I just don't like riding in a rain suit if I don't need it and getting in and out of rain pants, imo, is a pain on the road when dealing with intermittent rain or those afternoon storms you get in the summer. Throwing on a jacket and gloves doesn't take long.

nice find for sure. I just wish someone local to me kept it in stock to try on sizes... probably because i live in texas and the cold weather gear doesn't normally make it this way.

Good quality rain gear is worth it's weight in gold if you have it when you need it. I believe there is still some quality gear available without breaking the bank too, you just have to do your research and read reviews. I have some Nelson Riggs I got at a good price that has served me well. My leather Irish Setter boots are waterproof that have kept my feet dry even after an all day rain. I always season them a couple of times a year and before a major road trip.
The most important feature in rain gear not to skip on are, the heat shield on your pants. It keeps them from melting to your pipes. Ventilation, close them up when it's cold, open them when its hot. Poorly positioned vents will leak in a downpour. No vents and you just get wet from the inside out when it's hot out.
I also like my rain gear one size larger than I normally wear. It makes it easier to put on with all your normal riding gear. Pants that have large enough legs to comfortably slide the boots through. Velcro fasteners to fine tune the fit, around the wrist, ankle and the waist.

Here is another option, I bought this one from First Mfg for $99. Seems very well made but have not used it in the rain yet...many colors available.
